Position Overview
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Physical Education Teacher to join our team at an international school in Tier 3. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Physical Education to students in grades 1-5, with a student-teacher ratio of 15:1 and class sizes ranging from 20-25 students.
Success Metrics
- Student-teacher ratio: 15:1
- Class sizes: 20-25 students
- Average student progress: 80% of students demonstrate significant improvement in physical fitness and coordination skills
- Teacher retention rate: 90% of teachers stay with the school for at least 2 years
Your Responsibilities
- Teach Physical Education to students in grades 1-5, following the curriculum outlined by the International Baccalaureate (IB) and International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE)
- Plan and deliver engaging and interactive physical education lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students
- Assess student progress and provide regular feedback to parents and students
- Develop and implement schemes of work that align with the school's curriculum and learning objectives
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver cross-curricular activities and events
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance
Instruction Approach
- Postgraduate degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or related field
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
- Certified in First Aid and CPR
- Experience in teaching Physical Education to students in grades 1-5
- Familiarity with the IB and IGCSE curricula
Performance Expectations
- Deliver high-quality lessons that meet the school's standards and expectations
- Achieve an average student progress of 80%
- Maintain a teacher retention rate of 90%
- Meet the school's attendance and punctuality targets
- Participate in school events and activities, such as sports tournaments and health fairs
Salary and Compensation
- Salary: 10,000 - 12,000 INR per month (dependent on experience)
- End-of-contract bonus: 20,000 - 30,000 INR
- Annual leave: 30 days
- Medical insurance: 5,000 INR per year
- Professional development opportunities: 2-3 courses or workshops per year
